We read various versions of the gingerbread story this week. Tuesday we got to make our very own gingerbread boy or girl.

We put them into the oven to bake. When we were ready to eat them, we pulled out the trays and they were GONE!

Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man! We chased the gingerbread people all over the school to try to find them. We even got to RUN in the hallway! We finally found them and ate them for a snack. What fun!

The students built fine motor skills this week by punching holes in stockings and sewing them with yarn.
This child is writing a letter to Santa using a greeting card.
We read the book Hansel and Gretel. The snow white dove from the story delivered a path out of the forest with clue cards telling our class how to escape. We followed the pattern cards and tried to get out of the forest without reaching a dead end. The children LOVED this story and game. We are working on making our own board games to take home and play.
Each tree below has a number written on it. The students were to decorate the tree with the appropriate number of ornaments.
We had all kinds of holiday activities this week. One activity we did was write letters to Santa.
The dramatic play center became a Smokey Row Coffee Shop! We had fun writing orders and making "hot cocoa with marshmallows" for our friends.

Different gift bags had ornaments inside. The children guessed how many ornaments were in each bag and then counted them. They compared their guesses with the actual amounts.
